Bocci 14.1m pendant lamp

The 14 is an articulated, seamed cast glass sphere with a frosted cylindrical void that houses either a low voltage (12V, 10W halogen/xenon) or LED(12V, 1.5W) lamp. Individual pendants are visually quite subtle, but gain tremendous strength when multiplied and clustered in large groups.
Light interacts with the bubbles and imperfections of the cast glass to produce a glow reminiscent of small candles floating within spheres of water. Cast glass is an organic process, imperfect by nature and each 14 is hand made; thus, every piece produced is unique.
The 14.1m is a fixture comprising of a single cast glass pendant connected with a braided coaxial cable to a mini brushed nickel canopy. The intent of this piece is to achieve a small diameter ceiling canopy that has less visual impact on the ceiling in large clustered installations. A ceiling plate diameter of 30mm in lieu of the conventional dimension of 116mm makes for a significantly more elegant interface with the ceiling. The 14.1m is an elemental "building block" for creating clustered configurations while reducing the visual "noise" on the ceiling plane. The 14.1m requires a remote mounted transformer in an accessible location and is recommended for new build applications, which would allow the installation of the proprietary junction box with ease.
